Swayamsiddha is a community-based NGO working in Chhattisgarh (India) for more than 25 years with a clear mission: to empower women, strengthen families, and build more aware, resilient communities. Over the years, our initiatives have reached women and girls across diverse backgrounds, with a special focus on those who have limited access to opportunities, resources, and support systems

We design and implement well-planned, comprehensive programmes that address both immediate needs and long-term transformation. Our key focus areas include health and hygiene, education, cleanliness and sanitation, environmental conservation, women’s empowerment, girls’ education, livelihood generation, and skill development. Through workshops, community sessions, and on-ground campaigns, we promote informed decision-making, confidence, and social participation—so that women and girls can take charge of their lives and futures.

A unique strength of Swayamsiddha is our use of creative and culturally rooted methods to spark dialogue and awareness. We conduct Light & Sound shows, Nukkad Natak (street theatre), drama performances, musical programmes, motivational sessions, awareness camps, and other community outreach activities. These programmes are built around themes that matter deeply to society—women’s empowerment, child labour, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, dowry, harmful social practices and superstitions, and other social concerns. We also create space to discuss and address challenges faced by children, youth, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities, ensuring that support and awareness extend to every section of the community.

In addition to awareness and education, Swayamsiddha has been actively working for the last 15 years to help women from low-income groups become self-reliant through self-employment and livelihood opportunities. By encouraging entrepreneurship, skill-building, and confidence-driven growth, we support women in building dignified, sustainable sources of income—so they can contribute independently to their households and communities.

At Swayamsiddha, we believe empowerment is not a single event—it is a continuous journey. With consistent engagement, compassionate mentorship, and community participation, we strive to create a positive ripple effect that lasts for generations.

A Cultural Group of Married Women in which they are doing remarkable work in the direction of Women Empowerment and are taking innovative initiatives with positive direction in the lives of housewives. Continuous efforts to provide recognition to their hidden talent is in progress.
